Following its well-received debut in Nashville earlier this month as part of Americanafest, Country In The Afternoon returns to its home at The Half Moon on 8th November 2025 with another sparkling international line-up.

Getting the afternoon off to a great start will be Essex-based Florence Sommerville, whose modern country music sound has already seen her release her debut album, Endless Horizon, and play numerous gigs and festivals across the country and in Nashville. There’s a raw rootsy quality to Florence’s music that belies her youthfulness. An assured performer, she takes total command of any stage from the outset and allows her crystalline vocals to shine on her well-crafted original songs.

Next up will be The Jackson Line, featuring singers Keith Porter, Jamie Cook and Claire Williams, which means that harmonies are front and centre, delivering a modern take on classic country and Americana. While they’re comfortable sitting in the country genre, each member, including guitarist Jim Cross, brings a wide range of differing influences to the table to create thoughtful, melodic songs, which capture the essence of Americana while allowing their other influences to shine through.

Ayla Schofield is a one-woman modern country powerhouse, featuring soulful vocals, fiery fiddle and foot-stomping rhythm. Live-looping her way from tender storytelling to upbeat country-folk grooves, Ayla delivers the sound of a full band with raw authenticity and infectious charm. As seen on The Voice of Germany, on tour with viral sensation Oliver Anthony and on her successful 22-date UK tour in spring, she is one of Europe’s most exciting rising acts in country-folk, now returning to the UK as part of her Europe summer tour!

Bringing the afternoon to a rocking close will be Joe Hermes, one of the hottest new acts in the country rock scene and is a bonafide ‘battle-tested’ entertainer. The good-hearted, fun-loving former defensive lineman from Illinois packs a big punch with edgy vocal textures and hard-hitting musical storylines (both intimate and boldly straight-up) that sift between the angel and devil as a stand-out signature. Reinforcing his conviction, dedication and talents, Hermes garnered early welcome and support from country radio, country music fans and his peers. In three short years, he’s shared the stage with some of the biggest names in rock and country music entertainment.
