While we obviously love to keep you up to date with established artists here at Country Lowdown, wherever they may hail from, it’s always exciting to feature some new names who we think have a bright future ahead.
This short series focuses on three UK female artists, all with their own distinctive style within country music genre, some of whom you may already be familiar with but all of whom are most definitely “ names to note” .
The series kicks off with Savannah Gardner …..
Originally from California but now living in UK, Savannah is a really electrifying live performer and talented songwriter with one of the most distinctive voices around, just made for the bluesy country music she is putting out.
Her musical influences began with artists she grew up listening to courtesy of her parents …..Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, The Eagles …but her own style takes more from the outlaw country movement and classic country of the 70s that she loves so much. Throw in a bit of bluegrass, a touch of Americana and that’s what you can expect from a Savannah Gardener original! This young artist is definitely an “old soul”.
As a very busy gigging musician, Savannah is already attracting a lot of praise and attention ( I first came across her when she opened for Nashville’s Sean McConnell) and taking a look at her upcoming dates there’s plenty of opportunities to catch her live in the next few months, whether it’s as a solo artist, with frequent stage partner and fellow US transplant Sean Duggan or with The Wanted Sisters Band ( who have topped the British iTunes Country Charts twice already with singles released earlier this year). Maybe some of you caught her at C2C this year on the new “Barrelhouse Stage”?
With her debut album “Savannah Gardner & The Lone Riders“ slated for an October release, there’s still a lot more to look forwards to from Savannah in 2023.
