The band broke through in 1994 with Cracked Rear View, blending pop, folk, blues, soul and rock into a sound that resonated with audiences around the globe. The album has sold more than 22 million copies worldwide and features hits including “Hold My Hand,” “Let Her Cry” and “Only Wanna Be With You.” It reached No. 1, earned double Diamond certification status, led to the band winning two GRAMMY Awards and to this day ranks among the 10 best-selling studio albums in music history. After stepping back from full-time touring in 2009, the band returned to the road for 2019’s sold-out Group Therapy Tour and 2024’s Summer Camp with Trucks Tour making their rare reunion shows a must-see concert experience.
“Spending time in London has been such a special chapter of my life, so joining the guys for a run of shows in the UK means a lot to me,” shares Rucker. “We’ve been fortunate to play for fans all over the world, and we can’t wait to see everyone again and play some incredible venues — especially closing out at the Royal Albert Hall. It’s going to be special, and we’re excited to share it with our friends, the Spin Doctors, too!”
Hootie & the Blowfish’s enduring legacy is reflected in the continued acclaim for their landmark debut, Cracked Rear View. In 2019, The New York Times revisited the album’s cultural impact, calling it “one of the defining albums of the 1990s,” while Esquire championed the band’s musical legacy and called for renewed appreciation. More recently, Forbes praised the band’s live show as “a high energy celebration of a band whose music has remained timeless,” underscoring the lasting appeal of a catalogue that continues to resonate with audiences around the world.
They will be joined by very special guests Spin Doctors. The alt-rock and jam-band icons are celebrating the 35th anniversary of their debut album Pocket Full of Kryptonite. The album’s enduring singles “Two Princes” and “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong” , with “Two Princes” earning a GRAMMY nomination for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
Formed in New York City in 1988, Spin Doctors broke through with Pocket Full of Kryptonite in 1991. The album peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, and established the band as one of the defining acts of the early ’90s alternative-rock era, fueled by beloved hits including “Two Princes,” “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong,” “Jimmy Olsen’s Blues,” “How Can You Want Him (When You Know You Can Have Me),” and “What Time Is It?”. Pocket Full of Kryptonite would go on to sell over 10 million copies worldwide, and catapult the band to appearances on The Late Show With David Letterman, Saturday Night Live, Top of the Pops, the cover of Rolling Stone and headlining the Glastonbury Festival. Recently, Chris Barron spoke about the making of the iconic “Two Princes” music video with its director Rich Murray, watch HERE.
Last year, Spin Doctors entered a new chapter with Face Full of Cake, their first album in 12 years and debut on Capitol Records. The 12-track collection finds the jam band veterans revitalized, with the warm, funky sound and abundance of hooks that longtime fans have come to expect. The record also marks the studio debut of bassist Jack Daley, who joins the band’s founding members Chris Barron, Eric Schenkman, and Aaron Comess. Recorded in Asbury Park at Daley’s studio, Face Full of Cake captures the effortless chemistry and joy of a band still discovering what it can do together.
Known for their distinctive blend of alt-rock, and improvisational interplay, Spin Doctors have built a reputation for dynamic live performances that have continued to evolve throughout their career.
