Today UK’s own troubadour Ags Connolly has released the lead single (and title track) from his upcoming self produced album “Yesterday’s Man” which drops on October 30th.

Always known first and foremost as a songwriter to many, it was the simple directness of the songs rather than the style and imagery that brought him to the country genre, and he (rightly I feel!) says “I don’t think any other single genre has as many great songwriters as country has”.

Talking specifically about the new track, a nostalgic solo-write, which features the amazing Sarah Jory on pedal steel, Ags says “I guess some of us feel that way about the modern music business and modern world in general, I think there’s something to be said for the old way of doing things: presenting the best work you can and bringing it to people both on record and in person wherever possible. Maybe that will become obsolete eventually too, but I’ll keep doing it for as long as I can”.

Let’s hope that’s a long time!
