MACKENZIE CARPENTER FOLLOWS A BROKEN HEART INTO TEMPTATION & TROUBLE ON “KINDA WANT YOUR MAN”
ACM Award nominated singer-songwriter Mackenzie Carpenter follows a broken heart into temptation on her sultry new ballad “Kinda Want Your Man,” out now via Big Machine Records. Written by Carpenter alongside Chris Tompkins (Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats”), producer Jamie Moore (Morgan Wallen’s “Chasin’ You”) and Jonathan Hutcherson (Mackenzie Carpenter and Midland’s “I Wish You Would”), the hazy barroom confessional illustrates the heartbreak-induced desire to surrender to the irresistible pull of a Stetson beneath buzzing neon lights, trading loneliness for the thrill of wanting someone you know you shouldn’t.

Dreamy acoustic strings and hypnotic vocals frame Carpenter’s candid admission on “Kinda Want Your Man” as whiskey, slow songs and late-night heartache blur the line between right and wrong. Embracing a reckless, throw-caution-to-the-wind mindset, she ignores her better judgment, convinced one more chance with a heartbreaker might be enough to mend the pain of a broken heart.
