Caylee Hammack kicked off her new era of music as an independent artist last Friday with a belter of a single!! The high energy “Must Be Nice” (which she co-wrote alongside Britt Taylor and Meg McRee) is on the surface a really fun release (I love the mischief in her vocal delivery) but I’m sure you’ll agree (especially if you are a married woman!) there’s also more than just an element of truth in the well observed lyrics! 

Not dissimilar to the message on Ashley McBryde’s album track “Lines In The Carpet” this song is all about how the household chores a wife carries out on a regular basis are all too often taken for granted by her spouse ….. maybe it’s inspired by same husband Ashley sings about who casually tosses another towel in the laundry basket (for the “washing fairy” to deal with!). 

Favourite line? Has to be how nice it must be “to do ’bout damn near nothing and still get laid”. But the entire song is written so well. 

There’s some lovely backing vocals and harmonies courtesy of Caylee’s co-writers and a stellar line up of Nashville session musicians play on the track too including Fred Altringham on drums, Eli Beaird on bass guitar and Kurt Ozan on pedal steel (Kurt also co-produced the track alongside Caylee).
