Ahead of headlining a postgame concert following the Cincinnati Reds vs. Pittsburgh Pirates game, the Munhall native received a key to the city from Munhall Mayor Robert Falce, while County Executive Rich Fitzgerald also proclaimed August 11, 2023 as “Gabby Barrett Day” in Allegheny County. “I am not sure where to start… last night, being in Pittsburgh (my hometown) and headlining a place I remember most of the time performing hardly to anyone, for years and years – there was now 31,000 people in attendance for the show. I cannot put into words the emotions I was balancing before walking on stage,” shared Barrett on Instagram. “Also, getting to receive the ‘Key to the City’ was nothing short of an honor. God is blessing & we’re here for the ride. Thank you to my fans that have been there and supported allllllll through these years. It was so wonderful to see familiar faces. Until we return back… thank you!!!!” Starting off the day visiting The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center with her husband Cade Foehner, Barrett took the stage later that night in front of a stadium of over 30K to introduce brand new songs from her forthcoming sophomore album like her current Top 35-and-rising single “Glory Days.” In addition, she played her smash hits including 7X PLATINUM #1 “I Hope,” 3X PLATINUM #1 “The Good Ones,” and PLATINUM “Pick Me Up.” Barrett’s performed the national anthem for the Pittsburgh Pirates several times throughout her career. Recently announced, Barrett will be featured on a compilation album called A Tribute To The Judds, to be delivered on October 27. Releasing in celebration of The Judds’ 40th anniversary, “Girls Night Out” includes Reba McEntire, Carly Pearce, Jennifer Nettles, and Barrett. |
