First Time Flyers have officially landed!
Sound, heart, and personality come together in the most exciting collaboration in years.
You may know them individually, but you won’t believe just how incredible they are together. Four recognized artists, each celebrated in their own right, will mesmerize you. Today, we are excited to announce the formation of the band First Time Flyers and introduce you to its four members, Tim, Vicki, Jake and Poppy.
Tim Prottey-Jones, founder of Country Americana band The Wandering Hearts (Decca/Universal), may be familiar to you following the international success he experienced during his time with the band, including performances at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium and Bluebird Cafe. Since then, Tim has been writing and producing for other artists as well as releasing his own music. This has seen him win multiple awards including ‘Best Male Vocalist’ and most recently, ‘Best UK Musician’ at the 2021 BCMA awards.
Vicki Manser is a singer/songwriter who topped the iTunes country chart with her debut single and an actress who is well known and much loved for her success in Musical Theatre, featuring in West End Shows & UK Tours including Six and Beautiful the Carole King Musical. Her high energy on stage and her stunning vocals make her a fan favourite.
Jake Morrell was discovered by Dermot O’Leary, who featured him on his Radio 2 Show. One influential listener happened to be Glastonbury boss Emily Eavis, who immediately asked Jake to perform at the historic festival. Jake has since enjoyed success as a solo artist including performing at Country to Country festival at the O2 in London and is one of the most loved male artists in the genre.
Poppy Fardell has a stage presence that captivates her audience, and her writing sparks truth and fire in every lyric. The spellbinding vocals she possesses and her debut EP charting at No 3, immediately made her one to watch. She is also a trained actress, landing a lead role when BAFTA award winning actress Katherine Parkinson cast her in the play ‘Sitting’.  In December, she released her long-awaited debut album to incredible reviews, solidifying her place among the most exciting female artists today
These ambitious and talented artists are taking on the next chapter in their journey together and you are invited along for the ride.
Their magical harmonies reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac, with a sprinkle of Lady A energy crossed with the pop sensibilities of Harry Styles & Tom Grennan makes this one of the most exciting bands to launch.
They bring with them years of talent and experience, in addition to a unique sound that is impossible to categorise into one genre. Their music is unique, real, and completely relatable.  If you are looking for sensational soul food for your heart, then look no further.
Whether you’re in the car, at the gym, or taking a stroll in the countryside, take First Time Flyers with you. It’s the soundtrack to your now, your next, and your once was.
Connecting with your core, the kind of power that only music can bring to make you really feel! Leaving you wanting to turn up the volume, sing at your loudest and be free.
Your new favourite band has just arrived!
The debut single ‘Happier’ weaves harmony and heartbreak into an upbeat yet angst-filled dialogue. It’s about the juxtaposition between doing the right thing for someone else and breaking your own heart in the process. The song is set for release on Friday 20th January 2023.
