April has been performing from a very young age, and after studying music at Edinburgh’s Napier University, she moved to London in the hope of becoming a household name.
Blending her love of pop and country, she has developed a voice of her own, drawing influence from artists such as Taylor Swift, Kacey Musgraves and The Civil Wars.
Like any other artiste, April wanted to share her music to audiences across the UK. And over the past few years, she has attracted listeners from around the world through her interpretation of others’ music and her talent for song writing.
She released her debut EP “The Last Goodbye” in October 2017, and reached #2 on the iTunes UK Country Chart. The five track EP, is well worth a listen, with its good mix of style, showing off her strong and edgy vocals.
April really shows off her lyrical and vocal talents on this EP, in such songs as ‘Rabbit Hole’, with its smoky jazz tones and the sharp Nashville edge on ‘Circle Back’.
The title track doesn’t disappoint either, with its folk driven ballad and dreamy acoustic feel, which just goes to show her music could easily fit in the US and UK market.
But you wouldn’t know she was British unless you looked her up or saw her perform. April’s music has the ability to go anywhere and reach anyone, which is a good place to be musically.
