Award-winning singer-songwriter Lisa Redford has earned acclaim for her heartfelt acoustic Americana and folk music, with country legend Bob Harris describing her as “one of our finest singer/songwriters.”

Not only has she performed with and opened for many respected international artists throughout her career, but Redford has also played at several prestigious festivals – including what is arguable, the UK’s biggest country music festival, Country to Country for two years running at the O2 Arena in London.

Influenced by classic singer-songwriters such as Carole King, Joni Mitchell, and Neil Young, Lisa grew up in Norwich’s Golden Triangle, (a wedge-shaped area within the southwestern suburbs). Her parents were big music fans and whilst listening to their eclectic tastes over the years, she started songwriting and playing the guitar as a teenager. Although Lisa didn’t take it too seriously until she left Universality when she started gigging and found she had enough material to record her first self-produced and financed album.

That album was ‘Slipstream’. Released in November 2003, it contained 12 tracks, all self-penned, that captured her natural acoustic sound. Bob Harris championed the debut album on his legendary Radio 2 Country Show, and from then, the record received great acclaim.

Lisa has released two more studio albums; ‘Lost Again’, released in 2005, was recorded in Manchester and produced by Gabriel Minnikin, a former member of the acclaimed Canadian alt-country band, The Guthries. And in 2008, ‘Clouds with Silver’, again featuring eleven finely crafted self-written songs.

Lisa has also released three EP’s that have received airplay across the world. Her song “Dragonfly” was aired on a Bob Harris Radio 2 ‘Best of British’ Special, which featured the best songwriters in the UK.

In February 2019, Lisa released her single “Anything But Easy”, the first enticing taste of her latest EP ‘Edge of Love, which was released in May and featured 5 melodic Americana tracks.  Again self-released, the EP has been receiving glowing press reviews and worldwide airplay.

Lisa then released her latest single from the EP on July 26th. An infectious Americana tinged band track, “Let Go” blends country, folk and Americana with memorable melodies and stunning vocals.

Having been based in the US as well as the UK, Lisa also writes music columns for various online music publications where she interviews songwriters, previews and reviews major music events, as well as offering music and songwriting advice to thousands of readers. She also hosts a music show on Future Radio in Norwich.

Lisa has also been a semi-finalist two years running at the International Songwriting Competition (ISC) – ‘the songwriting competition to take note of’ according to The New York Times. In which Lisa says, although I love performing, I don’t want to be known as a Country Folk Singer, but as a songwriter.
