Canadian singer songwriter Jerry Leger, lauded by critics and fellow musicians alike, released new studio album Time Out For Tomorrow in November 2019 via the Cowboy Junkies’ record label Latent Recordings. The third consecutive record produced by the Junkies’ Michael Timmins, Time Out For Tomorrow unveils ten portraits of the impermanence of life, love, or simply catching a glimpse of a shooting star.

Now, fans in the UK will have chance to hear the new songs live when Leger plays the following dates in April 2020:

Tuesday 21 April: Sheffield – Greystones

Wednesday 22 April: London – Green Note

Thursday 23 April:  Glasgow – Broadcast

Friday 24 April: Hull – O’Rileys

Saturday 25 April: Stockport – Roma Lakes

Sunday 26 April: Winchester – The Railway Inn

Time Out For Tomorrow was released to widespread critical acclaim including:

“The Canadian master of Americana music. Time Out For Tomorrow is his masterpiece. Lovers of Americana won’t find a better album this year.” [4.5/5 stars] – ROLLING STONE

“The admirably prolific Leger’s 12th album in 15 years finds him further honing the articulate, hookladen Americana… this is country pop from the top drawer… Leger charts a persuasive course along warm, laconic roads previously travelled by Glen Campbell and Nick Lowe.” – UNCUT

“A masterful example of Americana songcraft and accomplished musical performance.”9/10  – AMERICANA UK

“Top quality country-pop from Toronto’s Leger” – DAILY EXPRESS

Time Out For Tomorrow continues Leger’s run of consistently high output and displays the finely honed artistic vision that has been evident since 2005 when, at age 19, he released the first of nine studio albums, along with three more with his side projects The Del-Fi’s and The Bop-Fi’s.

“I got the name for the album from an early ‘60s dime store collection of science fiction short stories a friend gave me,” Leger explains. “Everything around me seems like science fiction these days, and the phrase ‘Time Out For Tomorrow’ fit these songs and my mood in one way or another.”

Canada may be known more these days for punching above its weight in the global pop music field, but its long and storied tradition of singer/songwriters still prevails. Jerry Leger is carrying that torch, and if there’s any further proof needed that he’s at the vanguard, just listen to Time Out For Tomorrow.
