Kacey transported us across the rainbow last Tuesday night in London, and into the Deeper Well World Tour. From her stage presence, her interaction with her fans, and her incredibly beautiful voice, Kacey left me with a night I will never forget, where the whole world blacked out and I was in my happy place. From a young age, I have been waiting to see Kacey live. One of the albums I first remember my mum introducing me to from the country music world was Pageant Material, which is still one of my favourite albums today. So, when the tour was announced earlier this year, I knew I just had to go. (The tickets were incredibly hard to get too even with pre – sale, so thank you so much to my mum’s friend Andrew for selling her the tickets and surprising me with them for my birthday – best present EVER!)

The lights went down and as soon as the smoke appeared on the stage, it was just seconds until Kacey would appear. Opening with the first track from Deeper Well, ‘Cardinal’, Kacey appeared from the smoke and instantly illuminated the stage with her presence. She has so much character as a performer, which is one of the reasons why I love her so much! From the second she came on stage to the moment she left, she interacted with us leaving her fans in hysterics a lot of the time. A special moment for me during the show was after she performed ‘Cardinal’ and spoke to her fans, setting the energy for the night. Kacey said: ‘We are going to have the best time tonight’ and she did not lie! It was such a special moment as I had been waiting to see her live for such a long time. After welcoming us into the Deeper Well, Kacey delivered a stunning performance of ‘Moving Out’ in which she really showcased her contentment with herself, and how she’s left her past behind. After came one of the most beautiful performances I’ve seen to date, that of ‘Deeper Well’. The performance really showed a care for her fans through her delicate tone, but also for herself through the opening line ‘my Saturn has returned’ which was lovely for fans to see live as Kacey had re – gained her energy and this was generated throughout the whole night.

A personal favourite of mine from Deeper Well is ‘Too Good To Be True’ and Kacey delivered it stunningly. What I admire about Kacey as a performer is how she really tells her audience a story when singing. Through her performance of ‘Too Good To Be True’ it was clear to me that she has a delicate side to her, and has been through a lot in the past. It was so joyful as a fan to see how happy Kacey seemed when performing; she was full of energy and interaction with fans! A playful moment was when she shared with everyone the story of how she ‘’sharted’’ whilst in Ireland which had us all in hysterics! After the storytelling, came a soulful performance of ‘Butterflies’ from her fourth studio album, ‘Golden Hour.’ This was spectacular and gave the crowd a good throwback to some of her earlier tunes. About half – way through the show, confetti was released from the ceiling to celebrate the night. This was a visually spectacular moment and just added to the wonder of a Kacey concert. She really made the night stand out.

After a performance of ‘Lonely Millionaire’ came the classic hit from her 2013 first studio album, ‘Same Trailer Different Park’, ‘Follow Your Arrow.’ I felt this was the most beautiful performance I have ever sat through in my life – everyone was singing along. It was a slower, more thought – provoking version which I enjoyed as it meant I could enjoy the moment for longer! For the performance, Kacey brought her best friend, Sarah Buxton out on stage to sing with her. Sat on stools, relaxed and confident, Kacey made me appreciate and find the beauty of life, reminding fans to ‘follow your arrow wherever it points’ which is a motto I live by. The moment really felt like one where no judgement was guaranteed, and we could just be free from the anxieties of life in the moment. ‘The Architect’ brought tears to my eyes. The crowd was silent as Kacey sang about the uncertainties we face in life and her angelic voice trapped me in the moment making me realise how lucky I am to be alive, and sharing the moment with my mum, one of my best friends after a heavy few years.

The most gorgeous rendition of ‘Rainbow’ gave another opportunity for a truly visually beautiful appearance during the set, which was delivered with great vocal control and passion for self – love and growth. During ‘Anime Eyes’ the mirror ball started revolving and the party kept going! Following on with one of the most fantastic performances of ‘High Horse’ from ‘Golden Hour.’ Everyone was jumping and living life under Kacey’s instructions singing to that one person that’s made them feel small in life, throwing around the bouncy balls which Kacey was throwing back into the audience too, and the night shone. Ending with ‘Slow Burn’ and a touching rendition of ‘Three Little Birds’, Kacey reminded us that ‘every little thing is going to be alright.’ A truly touching and inspiring night. Come back soon Kacey, please don’t leave it too long!
